Crowdfunding publishing Tbilisi Insight Collective's work

Tbilisi (and Georgia for that matter) is doing great on the arts part of social innovation, and again: focusing on public spaces. This time I would like to ask you to consider funding part of Tbilisi Insight art collective’s work.

Help us print our publication, exploring personal archives of those living in Tbilisi & the spaces in between the private and the public!

Below the email Katharina sent out:

We have been working hard on our Tbilisi Insights project over the last 18 months. Many of you may know the story of how we won the competition to take our project to the Georgian pavilion at the 14th architecture Biennale in Venice, and then were not commissioned…

After that we started all over as a collective, focusing on the content and form we thought and think are important, than on mere possibilities.

Over the past year, and more, we have gathered a crazily interesting informal archive; explored structures of the city through our interventions; collaborated with AJZ collective in Yerevan; and over the past months, have been discussing and writing and working on our ‘city [un]archived’ publication with Onomatopee in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Eight contributions, all together, by us four tbilisi insights collective members [Tamuna Chabashvili, Data Chigholashvili, Gvantsa Nikolaishvili & Katharina Stadler], as well as four additional contributions by Lado Darakhvelidze, Nini Palavandishvili, Giorgi Tabatadze and Sophia Tabatadze, all four of who challenge the setting of Tbilisi in their work.

At the moment everything is in the process of designing by Bardhi Haliti.

Despite funding by Arts Collaboratory/DOEN foundation, we are looking for another 1.900 € for the printing of our publication. And since none of us likes to ask for money, we thought: [not] just another call for crowdfunding. So we decided to take the core of our project to the funding level, in an attempt of a collaborative process to share various materials and insights of the Tbilisi InSights project with you, both through being able to print our publication and through our rewards!

We are excited and we will very much appreciate all help for getting our publication into print in a few weeks! Here’s the link to our website: http://www.kisskissbankbank.com/en/projects/city-un-archived-publication
