Dear generous people building Lote

You can imagine the joy of seeing so many of us are up for making Lote awesome. and I'm sure we will. We're all putting our time, resources and skills in this, and might need a bit of overview to make it as efficient as possible. This is an introduction into what Nadia, Alberto, Matthias, Arthur and myself have started to do and where we are know..

There are a few spaces where Lote content is stored or discussed:

1. http://lote.edgeryders.eu
It's where we integrate information as it comes in, especially for people who may not know about Lote and need a good overview. Still needs refinement, especially tweaking content and links here and there, so if you know wordpress and have an hour to spare please say so :)

2. https://edgeryders.eu/making-lote3
This Making Lote3 group on the edgeryders platform is where all the interaction happens - where participants write posts about what they want to explore and work on before the event, and also where we coordinate the organisational efforts. We think it's better and more transparent than email, and anyone who has not volunteered yet can join anytime. Every time content is created inside this group it goes as email notification to every Lote participant, so you may have seen some action already.

How do you create your own content in the group?

If you scroll down the page you see a button “Create a post” and down-arrow to “Create a task” where we can each add and allocate tasks, or specify how urgent they are. Others can then jump in by commenting on the task and solving it together. Have a look & try them out?

3. Weekly online hangouts.
These are community calls to welcome new members & get up to speed with who's doing what and how we can help each other. They should be fun because we can better know one another. In preparing for the session, ideally each of us volunteers should come up with one idea that they can take it upon themselves to make Lote great.

How does this sound? Got reports, suggestions, critique?

Can drop in for a bit

Thank you for outlining all the tools to plan LOTE. I will try to drop in tomorrow morning but not for very long. If not tomorrow, another day.

Setting the time for next call

Too bad you didn’t make it, gladly there’s more of them and we’re just getting started. Essentially we’ve agreed that one of the most important things to move forward is for us to figure out how to structure & prepare collaboratively the content of Lote - event tracks with specific topics that people like you want to champion, that would then go into a handbook with resources for people who want to (help) kickstart meaningful projects: whether it’s an individual, a community, local municipalities, consultants… Perhaps you know of a good model that we could use, is a result of lots of contributions and has hands on information? hm,…

More about Friday;s call+ a doodle for people to choose their preferred times for the next, hope you can make it! /t/making-lote3/360/building-lote-after-first-community-call
