We are starting up a new helping circle. The goal of this helping circle will be:
to bring a proposal to the plenary meeting on
whether we foresee a common storage space area (to store furniture/machines for common use, to store products/food that we use in the common areas)
if so, how big
if so, whether we define this as a common area, or as private space that the financing reeflings offer to use for common purpose
→ we would need to have a proposal that is consented to, at the latest by September 15th (as this is input that the land surveyor will need)
to bring a proposal to the plenary meeting on allocating the rest of the private storage space to the different FM’s and to the 3 not sold units.
→ we would need to have a proposal that is consented to, at the very latest by October 15th so best bring it to the PM of 25/09 or 05/10 (as the notary will need this input)
The parent circle will be Team Société Simple.
@Alberto and myself will be part of this helping circle but if anyone else wants to join, feel free. We do want to limit it to max. 3 people as there is some urgency with this and we don’t want to be blocked by agendas.
For the meantime i can be the coordinator, but no problem to give it over to somebody else.
If you would be interested, please reply to this post by Saturday evening.
Hey @els, I would be interested to take part in this helping circle. I’ll be back in Brussels next week, so we could start discussing it around the 30/08 if not too late. Thanks for your answer!
depending on future planned activities (e.g. workshops, GASAP, tool
or other material library, etc.) common space might come handy
even if we foresee a common storage area and later on it is not used,
one can always ask I anyone (any reefling) would be interested
in having extra space; it is easier to get an empty space rather
than having to empty a space
the common storage area could also be handy for temporary
storage for some reeflings that need extra space for a short time
(e.g. when renovating the house, we needed extra space for a
few months for my piano and dining tables, etc.). It is much better
to have a space close by rather than somewhere else
—> given the above considerations, I would say yes
How big
maybe big enough to put a dining table
Définition common/private
if the intention is for common use, then it is a common areas, but
given (point 1) I am not sure if this would be possible – it would need
to be a closed space

hi @alberto, if I understand well from our previous talks, I don’t think you will mind if Guillaume and myself just go ahead and have a meeting on Monday 24/08.
@Guillaume
Ok, let’s meet on Monday 24/08.
I think 45 minutes should be more than enough.
Any preference qua start time?
I’ll prepare the agenda and necessary doc over the weekend.
as there is some urgency with this, i took the liberty to make 2 proposals , one for the common storage space, one for the approach of the private storage attribution. (the links to both proposals are in the minutes of the agenda). All documents are on nextcloud: The Reef shared folder/Helping Circles/Storage attribution
Guillaume, I know it’s a bit short notice, so if you don’t have time to read the docs beforehand, we can go through them in the meeting.
Alberto, feel free to add comments in the proposals (preferably before Guillaume and me have our meeting tomorrow 24/08 at 20:15)
Hello E & G, as you know will not attend tomorrow’s meeting. Anyway, I read the proposals (thanks for writing them Els!) and here are a couple of thoughts.
Private spaces
I agree with your criteria. I would, however, recommend that the HC takes one more step and comes up with a map of the cellar showing who goes where. I think it will be easier for the group to engage with it.
Common spaces
I agree with your line of reasoning, but would counterpropose that the common storage happens in C19 through C24.
Reasons:
Surface is 7.5, which is almost identical to the 7.45 sponsored by FMs.
Closest to the lift and stairs. I imagine this storage space will contain things like consumables (cleaning products, toilet paper that we buy in bulk and stuff that we occasionally use for the multi-purpose room, so we will use it much more often than we use our private storage spaces.
This is the goal. But to bring this in a following PM. Say the proposal of the common storage space is modified/not consented to, it will have an impact on the private storage space.
Could be done in one go, but i thought FM would prefer to be able to comment on the approach and not directly be confronted with the result.
Will discuss with G as well
C19 to C24 is 9 m2 (6 x 1,5 m2) so a bit bigger than what now is foreseen.
Will discuss with G about it
anticipating on alberto’s remark on already attributing the private cellar space, i tried to allocate a celalr space to every reefling, based on the survey.
And it works out pretty well, so maybe an argument to do it in one go, and if it wouldn’t work out (changes to common cellar space and remarks on the approach, we redo the exercise)?
(see second tab ‘cellar’ in the excel)
HI Els, congrats! Question, just to confirm: is everyone’s storage space independently accessible, without anyone having to move anyone else’s stuff to access her own?
I am totally up for submitting the proposal early.
