New domain for Team ComLife

Hello @reef-communitylife !

Here is the link for a proposal for a new domain for your review: the proposal and the toolbox.
I based myself on what we discussed in our last meeting, and expanded only briefly some of it to make it clearer. I think I stayed aligned with what we had discussed, but if anything doesn’t feel right, please mention it.
I also made a proposition for the name of toolbox, feel free to make others!

Reading the proposal for the Reef retreat, I think there is a lot of resonnance, I guess the question is how to get organised to keep this running in the long run.

Hi @Sarah,
Thank you for that.
I took the liberty to re-shuffle the content of your proposal into Reef’s template - just so that I could feel we have a more fleshed out text, that can be discussed and consented to in one go. The text your proposed is still on the last page, so if you feel I overstepped, nothing that can’t be reverted.

Hi @reef-full

Team Community Life would like to request your online consent to expand our team domain by introducing our new Activity Toolbox initiative (designed to nurture group connection and trust through fun, low-threshold activities).

You can read the full proposal here: proposal (and toolbox here)

  • Please react with a  to this post before Wednesday, 21 October if you consent.

  • If we haven’t heard from you by the deadline, consent will be assumed.

  • Note: Don’t worry if you miss the window—all team aims and domains will be presented again at an upcoming plenary, so there will be further opportunities to comment or object.

A sneak peek at the Retreat! :balloon: To give everyone a taste of what this toolbox feels like in practice, Team Community Life will be facilitating a fun, playful 45-minute connection activity at the Reef Retreat, Sunday morning.

Not sure what we are consenting to exactly ?
I don’t usually participate in games, but sounds like a good idea for people who do.

Thanks for this piece of work, but… do you really need consent? This seems like a case of team autonomy to me. Maybe more than a consemt round you could consider a demonstration, or some shared understanding.

Good morning,
@Wenwei the consent concern the addition of a domain. Sorry to hear you might not participate. Also, it also doesn’t have to be games.
Why consent : ohers might say this domain should not sit with Team Community Life, but withe Facilitation or Conflict Management.
@alberto I agree it seems an overkill, but that’s why we are doing it online and not bringing it to a plenary to fill up precious time. There will be a demonstration this Sunday.

Lucia… from where I am standing, you saw something was missing. No one was providing it, so you stepped in. This is always going to be OK in my book. More than OK, commendable. I myself would not seek permission, and would push back if someone tried to tell me “you cannot do this, it’s my turf”.

we lack intentional spaces to get to know each other on a deeper level without it feeling like structured, “work-like” labor. Additionally, with a group history spanning up to five years, integrating new full members seamlessly into established dynamics can be challenging without dedicated opportunities for meaningful connection.

I like how this overlaps with our discussion here: Reinstating the Full Member dinners / deep connection moments and starting an evaluation of how we want to reshape them: a request - #5 by Sterre

Happy with these new ideas and curious to see what it’s about this Sunday.

Hello @LuciaM @Sarah

Thanks for sharing this idea again! I missed the initial post at the end of August.

I love the initiative and how these games can be integrated in other meetings to bring some fun and light heartedness.

I want to share my appreciation because, since I am quite introverted, I will probably also run away from them quite often, and you might get the wrong idea :joy:

I also think this is a level 2 decision, so it’s great that you inform us and promote it, and consent is not required.

No concerns from my side with regards to Facilitation or Conflict Management. I would never dream of introducing any fun in either team’s domain! :innocent:

Nice work!

Ahaha! Thanks for the feedback and honest warning @GaultierDWM and everybody!
Let’s see how this all lands, and whether we’ll manage to find formats to get introverts onboard as well (to be honest that might need to be a default feature, given we are quite the introverts hub, in a very varied array!:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)
