We have a plenary meeting scheduled for this Wednesday 13 November. It was originally planned to be a Full Members working meeting, but as mentioned in the post on Plenary meeting 26 September 2024, the idea is to only close meetings to Full Members only when there is a real need.
The agenda (Login – Nextcloud) is super full, but will mostly include a long discussion on where to put the common spaces. To be able to participate in the meeting, it will be important to have checked the agenda document and read a couple of the posts and documents that are in there.
The venue is still undecided. My place is available but other proposals are of course very welcome.
As per the usual we start at 19:30 sharp, and it is much appreciated if you can arrive a bit in advance so that we can start in serenity.
Finally, as the agenda will be full and some people are relatively new (or less new, for that matter ), I figured I point out that we have “plenary meetings manual”, which has a couple of pointers as to what we can all do to make our meetings as efficient as possible (e.g. respect the rounds etc). The document is saved in the Onboarding Package folder: Nextcloud
Along the same lines I’m copy/pasting a screenshot from our facilitation training here (slide 38), which has a couple of tips which both cover “as fast as possible” and “as slowly as necessary”:
@Lee@ChrisM@Sophie_B (coordinator, facilitator and presentator),
i changed the order of first and second topic on the agenda ‘feedback commune’ and ‘feedback from meeting with oak tree and architects’. The latter being first on the agenda now.
I assume this is ok.
It’s more logic I think as this is the chronological order in which they took place and today’s meeting with commune +little chat afterwards with the architects builds on the meeting with oaktree…
just some addition i want to do to what i said in the check-out, ‘asking for more central locations for the plenaries’, certainly if we’re going towards 3 meetings a month.
I meant in fact: could sb have a look on what would be good locations for people , a bit far away.
I think it might be hannah and me (but might be forgetting people).
For me personally (and maybe the same for @hannah): it’s not allways the distance in km, but as we are both coming with public transport, the connection with public transport. A direct line to a further location is for me more acceptable then a nearer location where you need to change 3 times, risking to every time to have to wait 15 minutes with every change, certainly when heading back in the evening.
I don’t say it can never be somewhere else, and it might be hard to take this into account, just putting it out on the table.
I’m sure everyone is happy to adapt so that it’s not always difficult for those coming from further away. Maybe talk to @Dave_behave about what our options are. We’ve alternated between Lie’s, Alberto’s and Joannes’ recently, and Dave’s work has been another option. We could also do a plenary at our place from time to time, if that’s convenient for you, as long as we give our colocs fair warning…
