In 2021, Giuseppe @porcarorama had the idea to steer his podcast, Europarama, in the direction of Witness. He enlisted my help to make a mini-series in which to explore the distrikts of Witness. This worked so well, that, by the end of the year we were discussing further collaboration.
Season 2 is going to be a sort of podcast version of the book club meetings we do in the Sci-Fi Economics Lab. We are going to discuss a few select books, when possible with their authors; and then follow up with a book club meeting proper, that uses the podcast as reference material.
The first episode of the podcast is now out. The guest of honor is an economist, Yanis Varoufakis, who discusses with us his latest book Another Now – a sci-fi novel. The discussion was a lot of fun, also because Varoufakis is so clear in his thinking. Markets without capitalism, how we live in feudalism now, financial engineering as a class struggle techniques, social media as proletarization… good stuff.
