The results are promising indeed.
I just feel like adding that it I might have to go for my second choice, because of the price probably, but then nobody else seems interested in my second choice so there is no problem there so far
for those interested in the results of the survey, and reading the remarks people added when filling in the survey => 1st tab of the excel
for those interested in having a view on 1st, second and third choice and seeing where the ‘most’ popular apartments are located => 2nd tab

Hi Alberto,
Is it possible to change the choice of apartment you put for me to O09? It will be a better choice for me for my finances . Thanks
It would be good if the architects could make the 1 bedroom apartments a bit bigger
Do not get too attached to units! This was just a simulation. Happy to change the unit, but we all will redo the process with the avant projet and the real prices.
Hello @reeflings !
Now that we received the weighing of the units by the architects, here comes the time for the second edition of the survey: Choice of unit questionaire #2
Below is a link to the necessary documents:
- Current plans under Team Building/Plans
- In the same folder a simulation file - yet another piece of excel art by @els
(! download the simulation file to play with it… And if you see something that might be wrong in it, contact Els) - Weighing and estimated casco prices of the appartements in Team Finance/Price setting
Additional info :
- The prices of the options have not yet been consented to, and a proposal is in the making; the simulation file uses the figures that are in the proposal for now.
- The commune asked each appartment to have a minimal outside space of about 10% of the apartment so the simulation file includes this parameter now
- We have also been informed that a storage space is compulsory: either a space in the apartment or a cave/cellar (between 1,5 and 4m2 depending on the size of the apartment; we will get more info soon)
- idefix i3: can be either a studio of 60,6 m2 or a one-bedroom of 70,4m2
The aim is to discuss the result of the survey on the plenary of 5/01. So we would like to have everybody’s input by Saturday 4/1 by 12pm (noon).
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or problems.
Thanks, I’ve edited the post!
Could you open it for access? Right now it says I do not have access rights.
I posted the wrong link initially (changed it almost immediately but you’re faster than lightning…), can you try again?
Sorry, the problem was that I needed to change the authorization for the people filling in the form. It’s working now.
In a different post (Plenary meeting 16 December 2024 - #20 by els) the question was asked how final this choice of unit is.
My personal take on this is that this is now a request to make your final choice. Of course there may still be changes to the plan or to your personal situation, but at some point we need to go down the funnel of starting to fix things, and that moment in my view is starting now.
I can agree with “starting now”; but not to “this specific survey and the discussion on the 5th is final”.
Personnally, Chris and I are still ironing out some details (there’s constantly new information, it’s been a never-ending process for over a year). It’s coming to a close, but we’re not ready to make a final decision on the 5th (especially as the plan seemed to be making a final choice just before the permit); happy for a firm exploration though, and commiting to having a final choice soon.
And as I said in that other post, I really believe that it’s acceptable that exploring members would be faced with a minimum amount of uncertainty (and again, a minimum one as we are narrowing things down quite a lot anyway, and it’s getting relatively clear what would be left). It shouldn’t block the process of onboarding, at least not the next step of getting geared towards a presentation.

100%. And people to the front of the queue can do more than others, as our choices stabilize the picture for everyone else.

Agree on the principle, but struggle to operationalize it. What is a minimum degree of uncertainty? +/- 10 m3 on a unit that works for you, sure. “Either this unit or that unit is available” could also work, if the unit price is similar. What do you have in mind?
Thank you so much to all the members of Reef-building for all the work done !
Personally, I can’t choose my apartment until I know what’s still available. As I am almost the last to become a permanent member of the Reef, my choice will depend on what is left once all the other members have chosen their apartment. Last time, I didn’t have any of my choices so I prefer to wait to know which apartments are still available and I would like to discuss this with the architects before making a choice. Thank you for your understanding
I’m wishing you all a very pleasant New Year celebration . May your heart be light, your days be bright, and your year be just right! Let’s make 2025 amazing! Happy New Year!
hi @Odile
I can’t choose my apartment until I know what’s still available.
This is the case for many people I am afraid e.g. 6 2-bedroom units available and 5 full members going for a 2 bedroom.
With the one bedrooms, this is less problematic 5 1-bedrooms for 3 full members, so if you give your top 3 choice and you stick with a 1 bedroom unit, you should have at least one of these units.
And if you would go for another type of unit and you wouldn’t have any of your 3 priorities, than TB will come back to you after everybody having filled in the survey
As requested in this post, the goal was to see the architects before December 20th if you had questions impacting the choice of your unit. The architects are now on holiday till January 6th. If TB can help you in the meantime with any of your questions, let us know…

Dag marcel, een tweede ronde , rond de keuze van je appartement.
In de post van Sarah, vind je de link naar de survey en wat extra info.
Aarzel niet mocht je vragen hebben…
Personally, I can’t choose my apartment until I know what’s still available.
If that is a concern, then the “three choices, simultaneous” poll is not a good tool. Better to do ranking. For example, in the case of someone wanting a 2-bedroom, list ALL of the 2-bedroom units in The Reef, in order of preference.
The solution then becomes: order households by date of joining, early joiner first. Then go through the list, and assign to each household their preferred unit among those that have not been chosen before.
For example, in my case, the response would look like this:
Alberto, 1 bedroom. O1, O3, I1, O6, O9
@Sarah, could this be an option?
We could also do the exercise in person.
i had a chat with Odile and she is no longer blocked, she filled in the survey in the meantime…
