In this week’s coördination meeting, we went through a timeline of the coming plenaries and what we would like to discuss/consent to on these plenaries (see Lee’s post)
One of the things we need to take up soonish is (plenary of 16/12) is the location of the ‘buanderie/washmachine-area’ and our next team building meeting is foreseen December 17th.
For me this largely depends on the outcome of the coming plenary meeting (08/12).
I think, only in case we keep the reefonly zone in the back, this is a topic that needs to be addressed.
Is there someone who would like to work on a proposal for this, have it reviewed and present it on the plenary of the 16th of December?
FYI: some info i got from several people about this topic:
right now the washing area is situated in a south-west location. Wouldn’t it be better to have this ‘nice piece of building’ for a reefling unit, than for a washing area where we probably won’t spend much time as it will be a noisy space
might be good to move it to the place of the question mark: less good orientation (which is ok for this space) + it will make the common garden bigger behind the back building
This message to keep you updated with the discussion on the buanderie.
In the current plans the buanderie is forseen in the back building, facing the garden, on the right of the stairs/lift. Because this is a very nice spot (facing the garden and light/sunny), there was a request to ask the architects whether it would be possible to move it to another place (eg at the back of Idéfix). The idea was that it could then be turned into m2 for an apartment, which would also have a small financial positive impact for the project (well situated surface hence relatively expensive).
The architects response was quite unequivocal: this space is not very usable for living m2 because of its shape. It would be a very difficult space to set-up if it was added to the apartment next to it.
So we have received some replies from the architects, and we are now working on creating a list of options for the pre-final plans.
For the laundry room we now also have the option of moving it to the basement of Obelix.
An option that was not checked with the architects, but which seems possible from what I can see, is to slice off 10 m² of the common spaces of the ground floor at Obelix, like it was done in l’Echappée. The extra advantage here is that you would have a room that is 4 meters high, which creates more space for drying.
The advantages of getting rid of those 16 m² in Idefix are twofold: 1) it has a positive impact on the budget (or we can use the money for other things), and 2) it turns that weird one-bedroom at the ground floor of Idefix in a more attractive two-bedroom.
I find it important that we make this decision together. Would someone be willing to write up a very short proposal?
This is a task assigned to @Sarah , is that a problem?
As it has a string link with two other proposals in tb, I would like to keep it in tb and discuss it in tonight’s tub meeting.
The option of moving it to the common space in Obelix has been checked with the architects and the answer is ‘yes, this is possible’
I don’t see how who is in charge of a task would ever be a concern, so I’m not sure I understand that question.
Maybe my post wasn’t very clear, but in sum I would like to object to having the laundry room at the ground floor of Idefix, for all the reasons I listed above.
Unless views have changed in the meanwhile and there is a clear proposal, the way I would approach this would be with a selection process.
Update: in the meanwhile it turns out that there are people who are objecting to putting it in the basement (please don’t hesitate to bring that to the forum guys!), because it’s unpleasant to do your laundry in such a dark space, and also because space is very limited.
Depending on the outcome of the meeting with the architects tonight, this could lead to a proposal to put it in Obelix, or else we can still do a selection proposal (though this risks to be overly complicated if you ask me).
I am sorry, i have not have the time to read all the last messages on the forum (including the ones above, so sorry if you feel that you’ve not been heard, i have simply not read them yet).
Just want to share that after tonights meeting with the architects we discussed a bit the approach we want to take on the buanderie. We decided with TB to work on a proposal to go for a consent to moving it. Where we will move it to, has no impact on the available units, and can be decided later (and according to me will decomplexify things)
I find it difficult, with the sharp deadlines to get everything ready, to take into account all inputs that are given on the forum (while a few days before certain decisions were taken in TB). I see the advantage of giving objections and concerns beforehand, but really hard to deal with that as we are struggling to get everything done in time=> @Lee could we discuss about this, F2F or wherever. It’s possible that i don’t clearly understand it all.
@reeflings: Here is the proposal on the location of the buanderie that I’ve prepared based on the discussion with the architects and in team building: [Login – Nextcloud]
The proposition is to decide on wednesday whether we move it or not from idefix, and make a final decision on its position on the 25/01.
