Who's coming to LOTE2
Philippe Verstichel Coming from Braine-l’Alleud Facilitates the Policy Action Challenge on Rewiring innovation policy in Europe. Bio: Over 25 years of experience within a European context, I have been a business transformer leading large project teams and growing business in many complex domains. Strongly committed to excellence and ethic, I have supported major organizations in delivering effective results efficiently. An international entrepreneur at heart and soul, my mission: “Delivering the most-valued benefits for the innovative companies”. My goal: to improve the operational effectiveness and managerial efficiency for organizations to sustain their growth. And organizations can be anything you like, yet I contend that any enterprise, community or even a family is basically a social organization. On twitter: @phisab |

Prabhat Agarwal In Brussels Expert-in-residence for the Policy Action Challenge: Session Rewiring innovation policy in Europe Bio: Prabhat Agarwal was born in Hamburg, Germany, and studied Physics in Cambridge and Paris. After a number of years as an industrial researcher in the semiconductor industry, he is now working at the European Commission’s DG Connect, where his current job entails looking for under-exploited linkages between various policy and research domains. While his main passion is science, he gets carried away rather easily on just about any subject. Almost, that is. His current pet topics include change blindness and confirmation bias. He once also played Cello with lots of enthusiasm but no talent, but now the instrument (which actually belongs to his wife) just sits in the attic gathering dust. http://about.me/prabhat.agarwal On twitter:@prabprab |

Ilaria d’Auria In Brussels, (or Rome or Matera) Facilitates the Policy Action Challenge: session on Supporting bottom up infrastructures As a Social scientist I have been looking at the place of culture within public policies, following the diffusion of specific themes and narratives through specific case-studies: I am interested in how cave-dwellings which were once considered national shame are today officially UNESCO World Heritage yet remain a place through which competing memories and ambitions are expressed; or how a specific music, once played secretly in the privacy of the houses to cure inexplicable women deseases challenges nowadays identitarian rhetorics. Justyna Król Expert-in-residence for the Policy Action Challenge: session on Supporting bottom-up social infrastructures that regenerate human potential Bio: “It all started with a crowdfunding platform that I was hired to launch, when I entered the realm of social innovation worming its way through the frozen soil of obsolete legislation. And I immediately fell for it! I’ve been exploring the world of innovative solutions ever since, taking great (often perverse) pleasure from every small victory or discovery (aka. failure). Currently, I am an outreach specialist for the United Nations Development Programme Project Office in Poland. In the past years, I worked as a civic trainer and tutor for middle- and high-school teenagers, I did projects related to intercultural and civic education, media literacy and history. After all this time, I feel like I belong to far too many cities.” On twitter:@justynakrol |
