Everyone check who’s coming at #Lote2 in Brussels, feel free to get in touch with people before the event and say hello! Remember registration is still open but being so close to the event you have to look for accommodation yourself or try one of the options we propose (first come first served). We will spend Friday the 7th of December at the European Parliament, so you might as well take the opportunity to tweet to your MEP and let her or him know you’re coming!

Facilitates the Policy Action Challenge: Session Rewiring innovation policy in Europe

Bio: Katherine Borlongan is a civic innovation enthusiast with many different hats. Currently, she is an open data outreach strategist for the SNCF, France’s national railway company, a Startup Weekend Paris organizer, a media policy blogger for the Center for Global Communication Studies and one of the co-founders of the French chapter of the Open Knowledge Foundation. Prior to this, she worked as a public affairs consultant to the International Civil Aviation Organization and as the Managing Director of Reporters sans frontières’ Canadian bureau.As a merit scholar of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Katherine completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Bordeaux. She also holds a master’s degree in Communication Studies from McGill University.

Prabhat Agarwal In Brussels Expert-in-residence for the Policy Action Challenge: Session Rewiring innovation policy in Europe Bio: Prabhat Agarwal was born in Hamburg, Germany, and studied Physics in Cambridge and Paris. After a number of years as an industrial researcher in the semiconductor industry, he is now working at the European Commission’s DG Connect, where his current job entails looking for under-exploited linkages between various policy and research domains. While his main passion is science, he gets carried away rather easily on just about any subject. Almost, that is. His current pet topics include change blindness and confirmation bias. And I immediately fell for it! I’ve been exploring the world of innovative solutions ever since, taking great (often perverse) pleasure from every small victory or discovery (aka. failure). Currently, I am an outreach specialist for the United Nations Development Programme Project Office in Poland. In the past years, I worked as a civic trainer and tutor for middle- and high-school teenagers, I did projects related to intercultural and civic education, media literacy and history.
