Does that work better than covid yoga? Because I really struggled, and still do, to get myself to workā¦
And this is before monday beginsā¦
Further, if you want to see how George Floyd died in as much detail as can be seen publicly, this video lays it out. It is brutal. Be prepared if you watch it.
I think the two videos linked above do a great job of showing and explaining how deep and systemic the problem is. Further, police brutality, racism, economic inequality and this pandemic are so tightly bound together that no one of them can be solved without solving each of the others. The task is that large.
Yes! Itās also worth watching Kimberly Jonesā entire speech:
@johncoate Iām wondering, to what extent is there any public discussion (or preparation) for the event that American strongman will not leave office peacefully? Iām seeing increasing awareness on this, just the other day there was a fairly prominent op-ed in the German āDER SPIEGELā.
There is some public discussion, yes. But it doesnāt go anywhere. He still has far too many enablers, er, supporters. And frankly, we are seeing a lot of lip service right now from people - white people - who I think would not go for any change that would cause them any hardship or sacrifice. And I think Trump would never resign, regardless. The manās ego seems to constitute more of him than any other aspect.
Do you mean that he will not simply leave office without a prompt, or are you also worried that he will not leave, no matter what happens in the upcoming election?
If he loses for real he wonāt stay. I really do not think America is going to abandon all principle over a guy like that, or anyone. But time will tellā¦

Happy midsommarafton! After 2 years in Sweden I still struggle to fully understand how midsommar celebrations work. We thought it would be giant public celebrations similar to country fairs, but it seems to be a extended privat/family or at least not city thing for most. We are exploring our own interpretation with some friends we met in language class when first coming here in an outside careful distance keeping way. Maybe next year we find someone to initialise us :). It is quite interesting that this celebration seems to be not very commercialised compared to many others such as Christmas, valentineās or motherās day.
I only know if from a couple of times I was in Helsinki during midsommar. While there was one big bonfire on the rocky shore, it was, as you say, mainly a family affair celebrated in the home or more often at whatever lakeside or rural retreat or cabin a family uses for the summer. There were no specific rituals associated with that that I could gather besides a bonfire. At least not with the family I was privileged to spend those days with.
hey
By the looks of it you guys are in the minority. This weekend was nuts, every beach and cliff by the sea full to the brim. We even drove out 30km from town, no luck. After months of self-confinement itās jarring being surrounded by so many people.
Would love to go for a swim + drink while the weather is still good. Maybe together with @hugi , @jakobskote ++? I hear djurƶ and utƶ are less crowdedā¦
I would love to, but Jakob is down south. Maybe on Thursday?
Also, @nadia, you should come to our āWork Is Playā hangout and BBQ on Friday at Frihamnstorget! Show up whenever you want, people usually tend to be there from the afternoon until 21-22.
Okidok. Do I bring something with me?
Stuff for the BBQ if you want, and drinks. There will also be some food available for a 50 SEK swish.
Getting ready to get out of Belgium for the first time in 4+ months. Heading to Stockholm, then Italy.

From when till when are you in Stockholm?
I hope so! When are you here?
