Several things
Hi everyone, I have a few things to say.
Fist, I would like to support Vinay staying on in his role as community director. He has a strong connection with a large part of the active community and has been contributing to the most important discussions here in depth and with rigour. I also think Adil would be a great addition. He is calm and generous and having worked with him in Matera, reliable and constructive.
Second, I wonder if we need more than 2 community directors. If the job is to represent the community and balance out potential misuse of the platform by the company, they need to be able to present enough force that the executive directors must convince at least some of them that the direction they suggest creates value for the community.
Third, I would like to step forward to take one of these seats, if granted support. I have been actively working in the unMonastery project from the moment it opened in Matera. I have also been following the discussions on this platform and contributed when I had something to say (and when it seemed someone was listening). I helped organise LOTE 4, and took up on behalf of the unMonastery different jobs of hosting the event (like organising food). I continue to work on the unMonastery since the prototype closed. I have been one of the people who tried to maintain unMonastery presence on the platform and engage in conversation about unMonastery matters, although a lot of the resident unMonasterians were alienated by the unclarity of the relationship between the unMon project, the platform, and the directors. I agree with Ben’s post, that it is crucial to face the problems created by not defining clearly the difference and the relationship between LBG and community, and I would like to participate in and contribute to this conversation.
Ciao,
Katalin
